South Sudan Caritas Coordinator visited Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese to assess activities including the distribution of non food items to Internal Displaced Persons or IDPs.
Joseph Sabu Pasqual told Anisa Radio that he toured some areas and saw activities including Women Help Group, Diatoro and identified number of vulnerable people who escaped the mid-December crisis in Juba now sheltering in the state.
He said he expects to visit other centers.
Tombura-Yambio Diocesan Risk Reduction Management and Emergency Response Officer Peter Paul Saru said they were targeting 150 households to benefit from non food items.
He said they distributed items including full kitchen kits, stainless cups and spoons, blankets, sauce pans, buckets and washing soaps to IDPs.
One of the beneficiaries Severina Diakumba Akele expressed her pleasure for the donation adding that it was her first time to receive non food items.
She thanked Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese and Caritas South Sudan for supporting the real people in need.
Caritas South Sudan launched non food items distribution to the needy following a general meeting in April in Juba.
