Western Equatoria Police on Thursday detained a 13-year old boy for theft in Yambio.
Yambio Deputy Police Inspector First Lieutenant Anthony Ayii said a gentleman called Gberango sent an underage boy named Richard John Zanga to steal a goat from Napere residential area and sell it for only 200 South Sudanese Pounds, Anisa Radio reported.
The officer said the boy would remain in detention until his master minder surrenders to face the law.
He blamed parents for letting small children to loiter on the roads and push to steal risking their lives.
The Police Inspector advised parents in Yambio to care for children at home, send them to school and check their exercise books for a better future.
The underage boy admitted that it was for the first time that his elder cousin, Gberango who claimed the goat and deceived him to take and sell it.
The boy is a Primary Two pupil of St Mary Primary School in Yambio.
