Yei Executive Council on Thursday passed its 2014/2015 fiscal year budget to the tune of 15.3 million South Sudanese Pounds.

The County spokesperson Ephraim Jomo Michael told the press after the meeting that the budget was passed to the Legislative Council for deliberations and final endorsement, Easter Radio reported.

He said 2014/2015 budget is less by 23 percent compared to that of last because of decline in the revenue collection and creation of the Municipality.

Mr Jomo said this year’s budget would be financed with state transfers covering 98 percent and the local revenue collection constituting only two percent.

He disclosed County’s strategic plan to generate revenue to deliver services to its citizens.

The spokesperson said the executive council members emphasised on the need for the budget to be used for services delivery to citizens rather than expenditure.

The meeting brought together for Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Resources, Gender, Rural Water, Education, Health, Cooperative, Community Development, Labour and Planning head departments.
