Yei River County AIDS Commission Coordinator announced that HIV cases increased to 914 victims as of April, with some 896 of them receiving antiretroviral drugs since the beginning of this year.
Chris Isa Gordon confirmed that 87 HIV patients died and that 291 of them dodged treatment from January to April alone, Easter Radio reported.
He attributed the major causes of HIV spread in the Yei River County to high stigma.
Mr Isa said to break the vicious cycle of spreading HIV infections, is to stop pointing fingers at those living with the disease and accepting them as society members.
He advised that people to realize that every body is at risk of getting the disease.
The Coordinator said the highest rate of HIV infection rotate among women and youths population between 14 and 35 years old.
He made the exposure in a one-day awareness campaign to traders at Mitika Trading Centre and residents of Lasu Payam.
