Yambio town business men on Wednesday mobilised themselves, broke police cell doors and freed their leaders by force.

State higher authorities ordered for the arrest of nine business community leaders in the County Police Headquarters, Anisa Radio reported.

A reliable source said for the past two days, the business communities in Yambio kept their shops closed in protest against the installation of new customs in the county.

The source said petty business dealers including restaurants, vegetables, butchers, clinics and bus parks were the only ones operating.

Yambio Chamber of Commerce members declined to comment before investigation.

Police authorities could not be reached for comments as security remains tense amidst ongoing investigations.
