An aerial attack on a Sudanese village on Monday destroyed a hospital run by Médecins Sans Frontières or MSF in South Kordofan region depriving civilians from critical medical care services.
MSF in a statement said many bombs struck their two hospitals in Farandalla village, wounding five villagers and one staff member.
It said their medical teams treated the wounded and organized transfer of three severely wounded patients to another hospital.
MSF head of Mission Brian Moller said they were shocked to see medical facilities bombed especially clearly identified with a flag and a cross on the roof despite communication of the hospital’s position to authorities in Khartoum.
MSF called for the respect of patients, staff, and medical facilities in South Kordofan.
