Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO on Monday opened a three-day training workshop in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal to empower chiefs on gender -based violence.
CEPO Coordinator in Wau Stephen Robo Musa told Voice of Hope that the workshop was to strengthen chiefs on international and South Sudan laws to deal with gender based-violence.
Mr Robo expressed happiness and the readiness of chiefs to learn new things to improve lives of their citizens in three counties.
He cited some challenges facing the chiefs including poor roads and long distances.
The Coordinator said legal aid trainees would go to attend customary court in order to see how the chiefs implement laws.
