Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop on Tuesday called on the entire diocese to join him in praying for his senior priest Fr Matthew Samusa who contracted minor stroke and high pressure and the Missionary Sisters of Mupoi.
Fr Samusa was on Tuesday taken to Uganda for further treatment, Anisa Radio reported.
Bishop Edwardo Hiiboro Kussala after return from Uganda said the Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary are preparing for their first Chapter from October 1 to 26 to choose their local Superior and become an independent congregation from Comboni Sisters.
He asked all Christians to pray for the sisters, support them and encourage young girls to develop interest and join the congregation.
The Catholic prelate said Bishop Emeritus Joseph Gasi Abangite founded the congregation at Mupoi in 1977 and entrusted it to the Comboni Sisters for guidance.
Bishop Hiiboro led a team comprising of Vicar General and St Mary Parish Priest to meet the Missionary Sisters of Mupoi at Namugongo, Uganda to see how to help them prepare for their Chapter in October.
