Eastern Equatoria Health minister dismissed existence of Internally Displaced Persons or IDPs’ camp in the state.
Margaret Itto said IDPs at Melijo could access medical services in Mogali Payam health facility than giving them special treatment from the host, Emmanuel Radio reported.
She said the IDPs do not need special treatment centre because they are South Sudanese and should not be strangers in their own country.
The minister said IDPs use Nimule Hospital and that she believed they can share resources of Eastern Equatoria.
Dr Itto cited difficulties in mobilizing resources to maintain IDPs.
The minister made the denial after reports that IDPs in Melijo lack health facilities and are at risk of diseases outbreak.
