Yei River County Education Supervisor called on parents to pay their children at school to reduce illiteracy rate in the country.

Susan Monowa Philip said she realized that parents do not pay attention to the education of their children more especially girls, Easter Radio reported.

She advised parents to educate their children within rather than sending them abroad with lots of risks like high transport cost and security.

The Supervisor also advised parents to cultivate enough crops and rear animals to cater for their children’s educational demands.

The officer made the observation after receiving several complains from students that parents were declining to pay their tuition fees.
