The Sudan People Liberation Movement for Democratic Change or SPLM-DC urged citizens to put aside blames, but work together to rescue the country from the crisis.
SPLM-DC Chairperson Lam Akol Ajawin said despite the ongoing crisis, political parties in general and the SPLM-DC in particular did not come out to criticize government’s mistakes, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said they did not blame the government because the national existence was in danger and needs rescue.
Dr Akol stressed that it was not the right time to blame those on the wrong side, but time for working together to stop the senseless war.
SPLM-DC Chief said the national elections could be postponed before reaching final peace agreement in Addis Ababa.
Dr Akol said the announcement of elections’ postponement was premature because it did not follow legal procedures.
He added that National Election Commission would decide and make a recommendation to the government based on the prevailing situation.
President Salva Kiir earlier announced South Sudan’s general election adjournment until 2018.
