Yei River Mayoress advised citizens to carry out preventive measures against a possible cholera outbreak.

Cecilia Oba Tito told Christ the King Cathedral congregation on Sunday that it was the duty and responsibility of all residents to keep their surroundings clean and stop unnecessary dumping, Easter Radio reported.

She urged citizens to eat warm and clean food, drink clean boiled or filtered water from clean containers.

Mayoress Oba called on citizens to cover all food stuff and wash hands with soap before eating food and after visiting the toilet.

She appealed to all people to avoid buying food items from unknown sources which could be contaminated leading to infection.

The cholera outbreak which began two weeks ago in Juba already killed many people and cases reached 670.
