Wau Catholic Diocese terminated five teachers of the Holy Trinity School for disobeying superiors following investigation on the ten percent salary cut and social insurance claims.
Diocesan School Programme Officer Lodongi Mathew Lino said the teachers were terminated because they deliberately refused to justify their claims against administrators, Voice of Hope reported.
Mr Lodongi said prior to the dismissal, 15 teachers from Holy Trinity Primary School accused the administrator for deducting ten percent employee’s salary as tax claim by the government.
He said during the investigation, some teachers confessed they were forced by their head teacher to sign in support of the claim while others said they never understood the tax deduction.
Franco John Unango, one of the terminated teachers said he was willing to continue teaching, saying they complained because their termination reasons were not clear.
