Civil Society applauds Norway, UNOCHA for conference

South Sudanese Civil Society Organizations applauded the Norwegian Government and United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, UNOCHA for organizing Oslo donors’ conference.
 
In a statement, the Society applauded the international community’s generous pledges of over 600 million US Dollars.
 
The statement added that the society hopes the pledges would translate into commitment in saving lives and transforming humanitarian crisis into sustainable livelihood for South Sudan.
 
The Organizations demanded government and SPLM/A in opposition to commit to peace and ensure Cessation of Hostilities Agreement is upheld to enable an environment for humanitarian aid delivery.
 
They requested for adjustment of humanitarian funding pipelines to effect participation and access by local organisations.
 
Civil Society Organisations representatives from South Sudan that attended the humanitarian conference in Oslo, Norway include Health link, RAAH, EVE Organisation, SSUDEMOP and South Sudan Older People Organization.
