Catholic Church denounces polygamy, gay marriage

Torit Catholic Diocese Apostolic Administrator on Saturday denounced polygamy and same sex marriage among Christians.
Monsignor Thomas Oliha declared the position of the Church during a wedding of three couples in Torit, Emmanuel Radio reported.
He condemned same sex marriage, polygamy and separation practices common among Africans which distort the true meaning of marriage.
Monsignor Oliha advised young people to bless their marriages through the Sacrament of Matrimony and be prayerful in their marriage life.
Fr Kamilo Afore advised the couples: Cornelio Odera and Anna Asha, Sovorolio Afoni and Rosa Ihure, Gregory Suyia Ohide and Susan Oyami to continue living in love.
Eastern Equatoria Health Minister Margaret Itto and that of Youth and Sports Mark Akio Ukinbul were among hundreds of Christians in Torit who attended the ceremony at Our Lady of Assumption Church.
