Central Equatoria State Gender Minster challenged women not to watch the nation disintegrating in conflict without intervention through viable solution.

Mary Apayi Ayiga said men and women voted for the independence of South Sudan collectively, urging women to wake up for peace restoration in the nation, Bakhita Radio reported.

She added that women contributed in the liberation struggle to win 25 percent affirmative action, criticising them for being shy before powerful speaking men in the peace time.

Ms Apayi called on her fellow women to challenge men in conflict resolution and outcompeting men in employment contests.

The minister was speaking during the launch of a three day workshop on gender responsive conflict resolution mechanism and promotion of gender equity and women rights on Monday.
