Women of Kangapo I Payam in Kajo-Keji County on Monday petitioned their local government to constitute orders to stop indecent dressing among girls and women who seem to be spearheading the act.
County Press Secretary Amule Charles told CRN in a telephonic interview that women stood up strongly rejecting indecent dressing including wearing tight trousers and skirts against traditional mode of dressing.
Women denounced the style as exposing private parts to public view.
The Press Secretary said women criticized dressing of tight trousers, skirts, shorts and even mini-skirts as attraction centre for disturbance by men, leading to fornication, rape, early pregnancy and subsequent dropout from school.
Mr Charles said Commissioner Henry Kala Sabuni disclosed that indecent dressing among young women and heavy alcoholic consumption were disturbing issues in his administration since he assumed office.
The county leadership said local legislators would discuss indecent dressing and heavy drinking to clear way for immediate passing of local orders to stop the acts.
Commissioner Kala said the future lies in the young generation, urging educators to work hard to improve on mental quality of the new generation.
