Police spokesperson encouraged all citizens to open cases against wrongdoers for investigation, trial and imprisonment or dismissed from work if found guilty.
Colonel James Monday Enoka in a telephone interview to CRN on Tuesday called on citizens to report cases to police before talking to a media house.
He said police can not resolve problems when cases were only reported to the media.
The spokesperson complained that many things were reported only to the media but not to police.
Colonel Monday said if citizens fear to report cases to police, they would encourage crimes in the country.
The spokesperson was talking after police officer guarding the National Parliament premise last week beat up the Citizen’s Newspaper distributor.
He blamed the Newspaper for failing to report the incident to the police.
