Agriculture Secretary urges Nuba to prepare farmlands

The Acting Secretary for Agriculture in the Nuba Mountains region of South Kordofan urged Nuba community to prepare their farmlands.
 
Abdul Aziz Ismail on Tuesday said rainy season was approaching and that people should begin working from now to curb the looming hunger, Voice of Peace reported.
 
He called on the youths, adults and elders to engage in farming activities rather than wasting time at this critical moment.
 
Mr Ismail urged Nuba to be self-reliant to avoid starvation as the war between the Sudan government and SPLM-N continues and no humanitarian aid access to people in the 
 
He revealed that the regional authority donated some 54 tractors to help communities plough their farms.
 
Mr Ismail urged managers and drivers not to use the tractors for their own interest.
 
The Secretary advised Nuba to have their own food and means of survival.
