Kenya is expected to host South Sudan’s peace concert entitled ‘Baby Don’t Go’ on Thursday at the Elephant, Lavington in Nairobi to be graced by Emmanuel Jal and other four renowned artists from South Sudan, Uganda and Kenya.

Oxfam is organising the concert to give a platform for voices of forgiveness and reconciliation and build momentum for a powerful counter-narrative to the story of violence and conflict in South Sudan.

The musicians in a statement said they come together to urge South Sudan’s decision makers to find amicable ways to resolve conflicts and ensure that children are not sent to fight.

They added that they use music because it is a medium that reaches out across ethnic divides, religions, beliefs and ages and has the power to heal war wounds and unify people.

The concert targets the general public in South Sudan, Kenya and Uganda.
