Torit Catholic Diocese Emeritus Bishop advised South Sudanese to acknowledge their mistakes, repent and ask for God’s forgiveness.

Bishop Paride Taban said South Sudanese need to examine their conscience and learn to overcome challenges through fasting and prayer, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He said the Church was consistently calling for unity and the use of dialogue for conflict resolution.

The Bishop said it was unfortunate that due to greed, a country such as the Sudan with a potential for feeding Africa become a conflict zone since 1955.

He prayed that although South Sudan continues to experience frequent conflicts, God will not abandon his children.

Bishop Emeritus Taban spoke to Emmanuel Radio in Torit on Wednesday on Transit to Kuron peace village in Kapoeta East.
