Constitution Review Commission suspends states programs

National Constitution Review Commission suspended its outreach program on civic education and research in the Transitional Constitution.
 
The Commission’s chairperson Professor Akolda Maan Tier told CRN on Tuesday over a telephone interview that any program demanding travels to the states was stopped because officials cannot operate in the war situation.
 
He added that the Commission could only do some little tasks in Juba office.
 
Civic education team leaders dispatched to states in September 2013 reported citizens’ demand federal system of governance and reduction of presidential powers in removing democratically elected governors.
 
Sudd Institute in a document obtained by CRN on Monday suggested constitutional reforms and interim government formation out of Addis Ababa peace talks.
