The United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS is investigating alleged reports of human rights violations of the mid December conflict.
UNMISS Spokesperson Ariane Quentir told journalists in New York on Friday that the Mission conducted 264 military and 61 police patrols in various parts of the country in the last 24 hours.
The Official said UNMISS was working throughout the country to collect evidence and document abuses in Juba, Bor, and Bentiu.
The spokesperson said in Leer, Unity State, the Mission received credible reports of ongoing fighting in the town, but it was not in a position to verify.
The official said 85 thousand civilians are sheltering at eight UN bases throughout the country.
