The Office of the President of the Republic on Saturday issued fresh instructions to political detainees released on Kenyan government’s bail not to participate in any political activity.

Presidential Press Secretary Ateny Wek Ateny reiterated that the detainees were bailed out on condition that they remain in Kenya without political participation.

He said the four politicians in detention and three others outside including Dr Riek Machar Teny, Taban Deng Gai and Alfred Lodu Gore would face treason charges in the court.

Mr Ateny refuted Dr Riek Machar’s media statement that the treason charges’ pronouncement was an attempt to deviate from peace negotiations.

He utterly denied Dr Machar’s accusation of President Salva Kiir Mayardit for ethnic cleansing in Juba mid December crisis, describing him a desperate rebel leader.

The Press Secretary said President Kiir would not resign before 2015 elections as demanded by Dr Riek Machar.

He termed the call as an elusive political trick inspired by prophecy of doom.

Mr Ateny said threats of guns prophesied by Ngun Deng would not stop President Salva Kiir from seeking second term in office in the 2015 elections.

The Office of President wishes all Muslims over the world a happy Eid Al Mulid.
