Yambio Catholic and Episcopal Dioceses on Wednesday visited the Internal Displaced Persons or IDPs and food items.
The Catholi Church Disaster Management Committee Deputy Chairperson Peter Saru Paul handed over 50 kilogram of rice, 200 kilogram of flour and 45 litters of vegetable oil to the IDPs, Anisa Radio reported.
Mr Saru said Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese loves IDPs and committed to support them.
Tombura-Yambio Pastoral Acting Coordinator Luka Yugue said the church will continue helping IDPs with non-food and food items and pray for their safety in Western Equatoria.
He appealed to the IDPs to love, avoid fighting one another and pray for peace in the country.
ECSSS Yambio Diocesan Secretary presented some vegetables, potatoes and ground nuts.
State Child and Social Welfare Deputy Director John Zeburuna appreciated churches for their support to the IDPs.
He appealed to the entire community of Western Equatoria to emulate churches by supporting the vulnerable people.
