Archbishop says President committed to peace

The Anglican Archbishop of the Canterbury on Thursday told journalists that the President of the Republic expressed commitment to be a peace maker.
 
Archbishop Justin Wilby said he discussed with President Salva Kiir the nature of forgiveness and what is needed to achieve forgiveness, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
The Anglican leader said his visit aimed at telling South Sudanese people and leaders that they are no forgotten.
 
Archbishop Wilby promised to support the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission headed by Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul.
 
He said Christ gives the people hope and courage during hard times.
 
Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs Mark Lote’de Lochapi described the visit of Archbishop Willby as an inspiration for peace in the country.
 
Fr Lochapi reiterated government’s commitment to achieve peace.
 
The Anglican Archbishop is expected to visit Bor, Jonglei State on Friday.
