The Archbishop of Canterbury and head of the Anglican Communion is expected to visit South Sudan on Thursday.

All Saints Cathedral Dean Rev Jackson Moses said Archbishop Justin Welby in Juba will meet President Salva Kiir and government top officials and Anglican leaders.

His visit comes at a time when the country was experiencing political crisis that claimed thousands lives and forced many away.

Rev Moses said the Archbishop is also expected to visit Rwanda, Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo to meet Anglican Primates.

Archbishop Welby visits aimed at building personal and professional bonds, understand the primates’ work in their local context and lay foundation for collaboration over the coming years.
