Yei Catholic Diocese Secretary General urged citizens to avoid taking revenge, but embrace the spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation for peace to prevail in the country.
Fr Emmanuel Sebit Lodongo cautioned that if people continuously revenge, there would be no peace at homes and in the country at large, Easter Radio reported.
He denounced tribal divisions in both the church and national services, calling for unity among tribes to foster balanced development.
Fr Sebit called on Christians to repent and immediately desist from dark works that would be disastrous to their lives and country.
The priest spoke on Sunday during his homily at Comboni Catholic Church in Yei.
