Three NGOs in Yei River County of Central Equatoria distributed non food items to157 households of internally displaced people or IDPs in the UN compound.

UN Refugee agency or UNHCR, Japan Emergency NGO or JEN and Caritas Yei contributed 12 cartons for washing soap, mats, 157 buckets, 157 blankets, 157 jarricans, 273 mosquito nets and full kitchen sets to each household, Easter Radio reported.

The camp chairperson Joseph Mead expressed happiness to the NGOs for helping them with emergency aid.

He said before the distribution, they were lacking items to help ease their life in the camp.

Mr Mead lamented that the IDPs are now facing sanitation as the major problem.

He said the 100 sacks of flour 25kgs was not enough to the IDPs in the camp.

Mr Mead appealed to other NGOs to contribute more food items.

620 IDPs are still taking refuge in the former UNMISS compound in Yei.
