Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference or SCBC’s extraordinary plenary started on Tuesday in Juba.

SCBC President Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir Wako called on the Bishops to focus on serious matters and come up with strong messages because citizens expect good outcome of the plenary.

He said the meeting came at the right time when Christians in two countries are facing difficulties.

Cardinal Zubeir regretted that his Auxiliary Bishop Daniel Adwok Kur could not attend the plenary because his passport was still in detention by the Sudanese security.

He added that eight of his priests’ passports were also detained by the same security.

Archbishop of Juba Paolino Lukudu Loro came at time when people are in hardships and described the visit of Nuncio to Juba as a development of the Church of South Sudan.

He said though there are difficulties, Christians have courage, joy and pray.

The extraordinary plenary which brought together Bishops and Apostolic Administrators of South Sudan and Sudan is expected to conclude on January 30.
