Juba Monitor Newspaper Chief Editor said they lost six thousand South Sudanese Pounds after government security confiscated one day issue at Juba International Airport last week.
Alfred Taban told CRN on Monday that Juba Monitor incurred a lot of financial losses over one day denial to access revenue after spending thousands in printing, airlifting and paying staff.
He explained that they printed 1,500 copies for 3,000 South Sudanese Pounds and airlifted for 750 South Sudanese Pounds.
The Chief Editor said the media agency lost payments for advertisement on the day of confiscation.
Mr Taban explained that his Newspaper was confiscated because of two opinion articles: one analyzing the historical war lords’ mentality of SPLM/SPLA leaders breeding into the current crisis and the secons was his column ‘Let us speak out’ calling for formation of a neutral transitional government to organize for credible elections in 2015.
The Editor said Information Ministry authorities were bitter about the opinion, terming it an attempt to overthrow the elected government.
Mr Taban said his opinion was appropriate given the fact that Riek Machar and his group would not accept Salva Kiir government and any government led by Riek Machar would not be acceptable to Salva Kiir and allies.
The Editor said the idea of forming neutral transitional government was well received by independent observers within and outside the country.
