Business persons in Juba cried out on Thursday that business was falling as fighting increased in many parts of the country.

A Ugandan trader in Konyokonyo market Jamil Mukasa told CRN that he reduced wholesale price for a bale of cloth from 600 to 350 South Sudanese Pounds but still no customers were buying.

He added that people were running away from the conflict and those around were not buying commodities.

A business woman in Jebel market Esther Kiden said business was boring because customers were not responding to buy since December 2013

She lamented that taxation officers and house owners continue to demand their dues totaling to three thousand South Sudanese Pounds yet traders were not gaining as expected.

Ms Kiden added that the presence of soldiers in the market was scaring customers.

She added that at least the demand for food commodities was higher compared to clothes and other goods.
