Rumbek wants UNMISS Chief to quit South Sudan

Hundreds of people in Rumbek on Tuesday marched to United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS compound calling on its head Hilde Johnson to pack and leave the country.
 
The demonstrators comprising of civil society groups, youths, women and political parties’ representatives shouted ‘go away we hate you Hilde Johnson’, Good News Radio reported.
 
The demonstrators appealed to President Salva Kiir not to release the detainees linked to the violence.
 
Youths’ representative Cirilo Majok Thuch said South Sudanese love all foreigners, but were only against Hilde Johnson.
 
He accused Ms Johnson of abandoning UNMISS’ mandate and taking side in the ongoing conflict in South Sudan.
 
Political parties’ representative Arkangelo Deng Kuong condemned the December 15 event perpetrators, accusing them of diverting power struggle into a tribal war.
 
The protesters handed the anti-Hilde petition to UNMISS office in Rumbek.
