Western Bahr El Ghazal State Legislative Assembly on Monday passed 2013/2014 Health Ministry policy statement.
The document outlined the achievements and challenges facing state Health Ministry in delivering services to the population, Voice of Hope reported.
The State Health Minister Isaac Cleto outlined challenges facing the ministry especially Wau Teaching Hospital including chronic shortages of doctors and drugs.
The minister cited general poor health indicators in the state especially maternal mortality rates.
He appealed for more money in the Health ministry budget to help address some challenges.
Dr Cleto said the ministry rescued 48 babies born negative from HIV positive mothers and graduated more medical personnel.
