Youths of Kumbur Payam in Heiban County of Nuba Mountains on Sunday celebrated the New Year by thanking God for the gift of 2014.
Al Amin Mohamed one of the organizers said people should be happy for reaching the New Year despite of the insecurity in the region, Voice of Peace reported.
He explained that the celebration was postponed during Christmas and the New Year due to insecurity.
Mr Mohammed encouraged Nuba to be patient and hope for peace in 2014.
He called on the residents to pray for peace.
The celebration was coloured by traditional dances, local music and drama.
