A member of the Council of States, a Lou-Nuer Community Chairperson on Friday called for Murle representation in Jonglei state governance.
Gabriel Yoal Dok proposed that Jonglei State Deputy Governor should come from Murle tribe because they have the right to participate in the government.
He observed that Murle people felt insecure in the state due to lack of representation in the government.
Senator Yoal revealed that Murle lack even a messenger in state government institutions.
The Senator called for unity and peace in Jonglei to realize development in the state.
He identified some prominent Murle leaders including Ismail Konyi and Kengen Jakor as influential enough to persuade David Yau Yau for peace talks.
Murle Community State Legislator Lokoli Ame Bullen agreed that Yoal told the truth about Murle representation in the state government.
He added that Murle people were not part of the state executive, making them unheard in state decision making processes.
The senator said Murle people were viewed as enemies of the state, describing it unfair and called for immediate change of attitude.
