Eastern Equatoria youths are holding politicians responsible for disunity among young people in the state.
Young people in a three-day dialogue forum on Thursday at Torit Youth Centre expressed concerns on political leaders’ interference, Emmanuel Radio reported.
The youths said unemployment was a source of insecurity because majority of the idle young people resort to cattle raiding.
Representatives claim that competent and energetic youths were denied job opportunities forcing them to criminal activities.
One of the representatives pointed out that tribalism and nepotism practice by political leaders was the source of unemployment to some youths.
Lack of representation in decision making, high bride price, high illiteracy rates and revenge were some key challenges the youths face in Eastern Equatoria.
Others include high school dropout, girl child compensation and HIV infection, in the state.
