Education Ministry to open adult schools in Nuba Mountains

The head of Girls’ Education in the Education ministry in the Nuba Mountains revealed a plan to open evening schools for adult learners.
 
Fadila Yagoub Anur said the rate of girls’ dropout in schools was high and needed enrolling girls to evening classes, Voice of Peace reported.
 
She explained that early marriage was rampant and girls continue to drop out while boys continue studying although they were married.
 
Ms Yagoub revealed that lack of communication with humanitarian bodies outside hindered their plans to advocate for girl child rights to education.
 
She said lack of transport affected their field visit to cover issues affecting girls’ education.
 
Ms Yagoub cautioned that unless the community promo.tes girls and boys education, lack of motivation to girls would encourage them to dropout.
