Investors from different countries participating in the Investment Conference in Juba expressed interests and readiness to start putting fresh money in the country.
They said they learned of several opportunities in the country that suited most priorities, Bakhita Radio reported.
Erick Persecher from Europe said it was his first time to visit South Sudan and look for investment opportunities in energy sector, power, banking and agriculture.
Thabet Haodadir from South Africa said he was looking for an investment opportunity in the mining sector.
He said the South Sudan’s embassy in South Africa told investors about opportunities for investment in the country.
Han Joonki from South Korean Embassy in Uganda said he came to Juba to seek available investment opportunities in the country.
He said South Korea is willing to invest in infrastructure, refinery, pipeline construction, health, sewage and water systems.
Abdulhim Ahmed said his manufacturing company currently working in Egypt, Iraq, Libya and Algeria, was also willing to invest in the transport system in South Sudan.
South Sudanese investor Kwongo John said the coming of many foreign investors would challenge local investors.
He called on local investors to interact with foreign investors to make business in the country.
Mr John urged the government to put in place rules for both local and foreign investors to conduct business in good manner.
