Education authorities of Wau Catholic Diocese have for the first time in history unified exams for four primary schools in Western Bahr El Ghazal, a move to promote education and strengthen pupils’ performance.

Primary 8 students of St Raphael, John Paul II, Holy Trinity of Jebel Khier and Auxilium Basic School concluded unified mock exams two weeks ago.

Zaferino Thomas Zeyo, head of the Mock Exams, told Voice of Hope on Tuesday that the unification was meant to evaluate performance and encourage competitiveness between schools run by the Diocese.

He explained that the idea was proposed and approved during a meeting of stakeholders at the Catholic Education Department.

Mr Thomas encouraged pupils to redouble efforts and aim high.

He added that the diocese wanted to level quality of education in all Catholic schools so that no one should be left behind.
