Wau municipal security arrested a number of girls and boy over what it was described as ‘indecent dressing code.’
This move followed municipal orders to crack down on young people locally known as ‘Niggers’ banning their parties at homes and hotels.
Wau Municipal Mayor Arkangelo Anyar Anyar told Voice of Hope on Monday that girls were prohibited from wearing miniskirts and tight trousers describing them as ‘indecent.’
He disclosed that the municipal authorities arrested a number of boys and girls due to their dressing code.
Mayor Anyar denied that security officers were cutting girls’ trousers and miniskirts in the markets square and shaving boys’ hair with broken glass.
He added that if it happened it was an individual move that had nothing to do with the orders he issued.
Mayor Anyar said anybody arrested connected with the niggers will be jailed for three months.
Hotels and home owners who host nigger parties will be fined 1,000 South Sudanese Pounds.
