South Sudan is placed among the five most corrupted countries in the Corruption Perceptions Index 2013 published on Tuesday.
According to the index, the five top corrupted countries are Somalia, North Korea, Afghanistan, Sudan and South Sudan.
On the other end of the Index are Denmark, New Zealand, Finland, Sweden and Norway and the least corrupted countries.
The Corruption Perceptions Index ranks 177 countries and territories based on how corrupt their public sector is perceived to be.
Transparency International prepared the Corruption Perceptions Index 2013.
It said the index ‘serves as a reminder that the abuse of power, secret dealings and bribery continue to ravage societies around the world.’
