Yei River County Fire Brigade Director called on parents and guardians to keep fire out of reach of children to avoid blazes in residential areas during dry season.
Major Joseph Loku Henry told the media in his office on Tuesday that parents should watch out for children playing behind buildings, Easter Radio reported.
He called on the population to report fire outbreaks immediately to the Fire Brigade for immediate rescue.
The officer made the pronouncement following reports that 11 huts were burnt down last month in various residential areas of Yei.
