The Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio on Friday launched a two-day HIV Aids awareness video campaign in Yambio.
Diocesan Manager for HIV Aids Department Phillip Kumboyo told Anisa Radio that the Diocesan Coordination Office mandated his office to carry the awareness campaign that includes prayers, videos, voluntarily counselling and testing and dramas.
Mr Kumboyo told the crowd gathered at St Mary’s Catholic Parish premises that the awareness campaign focused on the dangers and previous effects of the virus in human life.
Anisa Radio talked to some young people who willingly attended voluntarily testing at St Mary and many disclosed their openness about HIV Aids.
Christine Bertin said she was willingly to test and if she was negative she would keep herself from the infection.
Another volunteer Minisare Justin urged the young people to be faithful.
She warned small girls from unnecessary movements that contributes to new infections of the killer disease in the community.
The Inter-churches Committee failed to organize prayers for Aids victims in Yambio on Saturday.
