Parents, community and teachers have to play their roles to mold girls in education to minimize girls’ dropout from school.
Central Equatoria State Deputy Director for Gender in the ministry of Education Robina Araba Michael said one part alone cannot address challenges affecting girls, Bakhita Radio reported.
Ms Araba blamed parents for overloading girls with domestic work giving them little time for studies.
Gudele Model West Primary School headmaster Angelo Lowiya urged parents to give girls’ access to education and avoid marrying girls for dowry.
He called on the government to develop laws to guide girl’s education.
Lowiya said girls are honest and if they study they will lead the nation to the right direction.
The speakers were talking during a one-day workshop on girl child challenges organized by Central Equatoria Girl Guide Association, funded by the British Council in Juba on Friday.
