The leadership of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba presented to its clergy and religious the zero draft of the Parish Pastoral Council Statutes.
The document was drafted by ten female and male church personnel.
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro told over 60 participants that the document was very important because it spelled out the local strategy for pastoral work completing and bringing the diocesan pastoral council to the grassroots.
The archbishop thanked the work well done by the taskforce entrusted with the drafting work.
He urged the faithful to contribute to the final version of the document.
During the presentation, Auxiliary Bishop Santo Loku Pio said the pastoral councils were not new in the Archdiocese of Juba but the document takes into account the changes affecting the archdiocese.
He added that the draft puts together the Law of the Church and pastoral and technical experiences.
The document includes the statutes for the Pastoral Council, Chapel Committees and Parish Financial Council.
Church personnel were asked to study the Parish Pastoral Council Statute draft and present amendments in order to have the document ready at the beginning of the New Year.
The participants also suggested a number of actions to conclude the Year of the Faith on November 24, Feast of Christ the King.
