Fuel shortage hits Wau

Fuel shortages hit Wau petrol stations for the last two weeks due to bad roads.

Eight petrol stations operating in Western Bahr El Ghazal suffered fuel supply irregularities as most tanks carrying fuel could not reach them.

Nile Petroleum Company Wau branch Manager Aguek Ring told Voice of Hope that they were only pumping the last volume of petrol left in their stock without hope of any supply.

He said the station for the last two weeks went without diesel and as soon as the petrol finishes they will close.

Mr Ring lamented that they have more than four trucks carrying fuel stuck between Rumbek and Tonj and empty tanks going from Wau that could not cross Tonj due to flooded roads.

The Manager said with the shortages, fuel prices in the stations remain at eight Pounds per litter and transport within Wau town also remained in place.

The main petrol stations affected included TURBI, Lokoloko, Petrocity and Star Gas.
