Rumbek Catholic Diocesan Administrator said the coming of St Daniel Comboni to Sudan was the beginning of the Church.
Fernando Colombo on Thursday told Good News Radio that St Comboni Day is felt and celebrated in South Sudan and Sudan.
He said without St Daniel Comboni there would be no Church in Sudan and South Sudan.
Fr Colombo explained that despite the fact that he was alone and at risk St Comboni offered himself to bring the word of God to Africa.
The Administrator advised that ‘as believers we should not allow ourselves to be prevented from spreading the Good News of God to the people.’
He added that ‘with God behind us we are sure to reach beyond our borders where message of Christ is needed.’
The Diocese of Rumbek joins the Catholic Church in South Sudan, Sudan and the World today in celebrating the tenth anniversary of St Daniel Comboni who died in Sudan many years.
