Bahr El Ghazal University or UBG staff confirmed indefinite strike over allowance reinstatement and arrears payment.
Academic Staff Association Makur Makwach Chinor told Voice of Hope that they were ready to start their work should the government pay their allowance and arrears.
He said the Minister made verbal statement which was not an intellectual way of dealing with such matters of concern.
UBG Trade Union chairperson Malual Majok Ring blamed the Ministry of Finance in Juba for not implementing resolution for reinstating staff allowances agreed last year.
He recalled that Finance Ministry circular dated October 9, 2012 to reinstate allowances of all the public Universities was never implemented.
Mr Majok said transport, higher education and house allowances among others were promised but never added into their salaries for almost one year.
Students at the campus were stranded due to indefinite strike.
The Academic Staff Association on Friday alerted that they will lay down their tools if concern authorities did not meet their demands.
