Chinese and Japanese companies arrived in Magwi for the construction Aru junction-Lobone road up to South Sudan-Uganda border.

Magwi County Commissioner Francis Okech Oteka revealed to Emmanuel Radio on Wednesday in Torit that the road construction project was estimated to take two years.

He said the work will require over 300 local workers.

The Commissioner noted the current impassable condition of the road hinders progress of farmers in Lobone, Palwar and other places in the county.

He lamented that fresh produce like tomatoes, cabbages, onions and sweet potatoes, rot at Magwi County before reaching the market due to bad roads.

The Commissioner said the road will ease transportation of commodities and enable quick access to services.

He called for dedication and quality services in the road construction.
